Overview

Anna Paterson has extensive experience with over three decades of designing, developing, and delivering curriculum across complex public sector environments including, Health, Intelligence, Corrections, and Defence. A significant foundation of Anna’s leadership capability was built during her 20 years career in the New Zealand Army, where she served as a Senior Leader, Instructor, and Trainer. Anna is a qualified adult educator, fluent in te reo Māori, with deep grounding in Māori customs and practices and Māori knowledge.

As a facilitator, I am passionate about creating meaningful and memorable learning experiences that help people better understand themselves and each other.

One of the reasons I value TetraMap is how it uses nature as a metaphor for understanding human behaviour, communication and relationships in a practical and deeply relatable way.

TetraMap resonates strongly with me because of the way it reflects the interconnectedness of te taiao our natural world. When I observe nature and the way the elements work together to sustain life, I see powerful parallels in people, teams, leadership and workplace relationships. Just as ecosystems rely on balance, diversity and connection, healthy teams and organisations thrive when people understand how to communicate, collaborate and work alongside different strengths and perspectives.

Through TetraMap, I help individuals and teams build greater self-awareness, strengthen communication, navigate challenges more effectively and create more connected, respectful and productive working relationships.

My facilitation approach is grounded in te ao Māori, creating spaces where participants feel safe to reflect, learn and grow together is important to me.
