In October 2020 Professor Hector Rodriguez de la Rosa of University of Guanajuajato, Mexico invited Yoshimi and Jon to talk with his university students about the topic of interdependence, building on a presentation earlier in the year at the Encuentro Internacional sobre Equipos de Trabajo. However, because of COVID-19 the students were under a lot of stress, Yoshimi & Jon decided to redesign and use pictures and videos of Nature to build hope for the future.
Yoshimi comments: “The night before our scheduled meeting with Hector’s university students, he rang concerned about the stress and pressures of lockdown the students were experiencing. It was heart-breaking to hear how despondent they were so we shifted our session focus on doing what TetraMap does so well… share perspectives and raise spirits through Nature’s Elements. One telling outcome is summarised by Marcela Flores @ 57 minutes in. Our greatest reward? seeing the screen filled with happy, tearful, young faces raised in spirit…even if only for our time together… to face the challenges ahead.”
Note the video is a little over one hour long and is constantly translating between English and Spanish. Although some of the students speak English well, the translation gave more time for students to relax, understand, think and apply. Hector has a long lasting friendship with the Bretts and was able to iron out some of the nuances of English for the students. It’s a beautiful thing to watch and see how it unfolds.
I’m very grateful to be here. The four pictures you shared gave us so much peace and hope.
